In my time in London, one of my friends invited me to go with her to an exhibition centered in film. We both found it to be a bit strange in terms of the content of some films, but the exhibition was still very interesting as you can see how it fulfilled its aim to use sound and film for the experience.

The exhibit is called Strange Days: Memories of the Future. The project involved multiple artists showcasing different pieces of film, each having different displays and some having their own rooms. The attendee/viewer walks through the area as signs indicate where to continue through halls and going downstairs. Some planning must have gone into the placement of certain pieces depending on the meaning, mapping it out. 21 artists' artwork were featured, yet many more people must have been involved for the installations and for security. The amount of time taken to create each piece of film differs, as it could take months or years to complete an animation and work on effects. Planning and contact between artists must have taken a good number of months as well, adding up to what I can only assume to approximate is about 3 years in the making - give or take a few months.

One of the more unique instillations in terms of display was 4th Floor to Madness by Pipilotti Rist, where beds or varying sizes and pillows are sprawled across the room with the film being projected above in a biomorphic shaped canvases. Viewers can lie down as music plays through the speakers, lights of different colors reflect around the room, and the film plays above.

I recommend taking a glimpse at the other pieces on the exhibition's website in the link below; some left me baffled and confused, sometimes uncomfortable, while others did the same however achieved to impress me with the development at the same time.
